Chest Pain and
Heart Emergencies

Dr. Vivek Singla is trained to manage patients with cardiac emergencies. In most situation patients require primary angioplasty with or without stent to open clogged coronary arteries to restore blood flow to heart muscles.

This is a life-saving procedure. From onset of chest pain to entering the cath lab in the hospital is very precious time for patients in heart emergencies. This is known as “Door to Balloon” time. It means how fast a patient is managed to reach the CATH LAB of a hospital.

Below are some of the symptoms to identify a cardiac emergency:

  • Chest pain or discomfort.
  • Heart palpitations.
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeats.
  • Breathing difficulty.
  • Fainting or near fainting.
  • Lightheadedness or dizziness.

Reach to a nearest hospital if any of the above is experienced. People having family history of heart diseases, diabetes, hypertension etc. are advised to get a regular checkup.
